If there ever was a class of workers that needed a union, it’s the 110,000 truck drivers who haul cargo in and out of U.S. seaports. At the nation’s largest port complex in Southern California, first-rate truck drivers are treated like second-class citizens, and subjected to third-world working conditions. Just ask the workers whose job it is to safely haul 80,000 lb. rigs full of imported goods for an Australian mega-corporation–Toll Group.
